I dont understand why ppl claim stonereaper to be the best staff in the game, one of the better things with curses necros are the nice interrupt you get from spinal shivers and since it doesnt do any cold damage it is useless. If you go for a staff I would say Modtis depravation.

really depends on your playstyle, as far as I have seen very few of the green items have ever lived up to the reputation of being uberleet, I plan to just hand craft most of my gear, inscrips for the most part are pretty cheap and that will allow you more flexibility and nifty skins.

honestly, with any caster, you should never just stick to one weapon swap... If i had to choose one, it would be a 20/20 primary weapon and a 15-1 energy + 30hp offhand. The reason is because I LOVE to echo SS and the extra energy pool is really nice to get off as many spitefuls as possible. You gain it all back with Soul Reaping anyways. You don't need the extra pip of regen.
P.S. --> Spinal Shivers is really really Uber bad. Just bring someone with daze if you want interrupts... sorry but its the truth.

Yes. Bingo. Win.
Stonereaper is akin to handicapping yourself for no reason. The +1 mod is useless everywhere except a few very specific situations: Minions and Maintained Enchants.

Modti's is an adept 20/20 staff of fortitude, stone reaper is an inciteful 20/20 staff of mastery, so the choice isn't +1 vs 20 hct. Personally I run an adept 20/20 staff of mastery for the best of both worlds - fortitude can be counter-productive with rip enchantment and enfeebling blood on most curses bars.
40/40 is technically more effective, but staves look better and thats the most important thing in pve.

Regarding the fortitude mod and Rip/EB, it's not really applicable. You talking about just a few hp of additional sacrifice, every so often, versus having an additional 30hp all the time.
If you were talking about a MM, the situation would be reversed: the +1 mod would be far stronger than the fortitude.
